Alert Banner Templates
When sending an alert, the web and app banner can be configured to show different styles depending on the type of alert. TownNews has developed several options for you to use, or you can request a custom project to customize them further.
By default, the alert feature will be populated with “Breaking News” and “Severe Weather” alert styles. Those options will show a red or blue bar, respectively, if no further configuration is made.
More options can be added by filing a request with TownNews Support.
Each alert option will need a CSS style defined in your site theme to display a customized option.
Configuration: Rayos Alert Banner Templates
TownNews has developed two sets of alert banners for you to choose from. The Rayos banner sets include the following options:
- Breaking News
- Severe Weather
- Winter Weather
- Amber Alert
- Silver Alert
- Livestream
- Traffic
When requesting alert banner templates, let the Rayos Support Team know which set you would like to use and which alerts you would like.

Configuration: Custom Alert Banner Templates
If you would like, you can also request totally customized versions of the alert banner. The TownNews Support team will give you an estimate for developing a custom template when you deliver your specifications.
When determining a custom style, please note that the alert banner will collapse into a very small space on phones. Logos and imagery will need to be able to scale and adjust to display size changes, and contrast on text will need to be high, to keep banners legible on mobile devices.
