Roadblocking & Take Overs
Roadblocking serves two or more ads together via the same DFP line item as a unit. Roadblocked ads can be targeted as any other ad, such as ROS or by keyword.
Depending on the settings roadblocked ads can be set to:
|Guaranteed Roadblock||The ads will only serve on a page where all the creative specified can serve together as a unit.|
|Non Guranteed Roadblock||The ads will serve as many creatives to the page as possible.|
|Take-Over Roadblock||The ads will take over all ad units on a specific page.|
Setting Up A Roadblock
Upload different creatives for each position you want in the roadblock.
If you are trying to take-over a page or roadblock multiple ads of the same size you will need to upload creative for each ad slot.
For Example a page with 1 – 728×90 and 2- 300×250 would require three creatives (1 – 728×90 and 2- 300×250’s) to guarantee all slots are roadblocked.
|Guaranteed Roadblock||In the adjust delivery area, set the Display Creatives field to “All”.
Note: If you do not see All as an option. Go to Admin > Global settings > Features
|Non Guranteed Roadblock||In the adjust delivery area, set the Display Creatives field to “As many as possible”.|
|Take-Over Roadblock||In the adjust delivery area, set the Display Creatives field to “All” & Set the Type to “Sponsorship”|
Note: DFP counts each creative served to a page as an impression, so if your total impression goal is 50,000, and you have two creatives, the line items goal should be set to 100,000 so the roadblock line item’s total impression goal of 50,000 is reached.
